I began high school in 2022. I was excited, but nervous at the same time…
I had been looking forward to high school for a very long time, but I was mostly looking forward to getting out of the house, as it was quite boring staying indoors at all times. It was like I was in house arrest. However, I was getting a bit nervous when high school was closing in.
On the the first day, we had a house day. We participated in many activities with out house, so that we could get to know them a bit better. I really enjoyed this day, and I made many new friends.
After house day, it was finally the first day. On the first day, one capability I used was organisation. I organised my locker so that it was neat, so I could easily get stuff out of my locker, and get it quickly so that I could get to my classes quicker. I also thought up of a way for me to remember what my locker code was, and where my locker was.
The next capability I used was creativity. In Innovate Ed, we had to use a lot of creativity when we had to make a sound with our bodies. We also used creativity when making a table out of paper. I also used creativity when I was making my poster in English, as I wanted to make a poster that looked nice.
The capability I used next in my first week of high school was collaboration. Again in Innovate Ed, I used collaboration with my group for us to make sounds with our bodies, and to make them sound nice together. We then used collaboration when making a paper table. We all had a plan, and then we chose the best one. We were each assigned a role, and then at the end we put the table together.
Another capability I used was problem-solving. The lock for my locker had jammed. I couldn’t turn it, no matter how hard I turned it. I got help form some other people who had already experienced that problem, and they fixed my lock. My lock was working fine after that, but whenever it got stuck, I knew what to do, as they had told me how to fix the problem.
