I began my cricket journey long ago, when I was around 6. I used to play just with my dad, until I was able to go to Master Blasters. I then joined the Under 10s cricket team for Gosnells Junior Cricket Club. I am now in the Under 12s team, and enjoy cricket a lot. But lets go back a bit…

This is me after one of my matches. That season, we had an undefeated season for all of my games except for one of our games.

Cricket is my favourite sport because it includes a lot of teamwork, but also a lot of solo work. When your fielding, you have to look out for each other and back up in case someone misses, or if they miss the ball. The wicketkeeper gets the ball if the batsmen misses it, and the slip or the third man gets the ball if the wicketkeeper misses it. The two batsmen have to use effective communication so that they know whether they should run or not. However, it also includes a lot of solo work. Each fielder needs to try their best to field all of the balls that come in their area. The baller needs to try their best to do a good ball, and the batsmen has to try and hit the balls themselves as hard as they can, and run as fast as they can. Cricket is quite a complex sport, but it is simple when you get into it. Cricket is an evolving game. An example is that I used to be a batsman, but now I’m an all rounder. I used to be a spinner, but now I’m a pace baller. You keep on changing and getting better. Cricket is also very good for your health, as it includes lots of running, and it is very good for your arms for you to do some balling, and for you to throw the ball. It is also good for you to smack the ball with the bat. Cricket includes a lot of focus, and it’s a very competitive game.

These are the most exciting and lucky moments in cricket history. Don’t worry, planes don’t actually come in the cricket pitch!

So, these are the reasons to why cricket is my favourite sport.
