IDEA DEVELOPMENT

We came up with OMJ when Rohan, Matt, and Dylan were in my group at the very start. Dylan came out with the idea of someone going to kill me. Then we thought about what is the weirdest person that can possibly kill me (The old person) hence came up with man Jenkins. We took inspiration from Dylan as he could make weird old people’s impressions. Some directions that went in our group when coming up with the idea is how can we make people laugh. We mainly thought of ways to make it funny and uncomfortable for the audience. We came up with 2 or 3 ideas one was a zombie apocalypse and the other as you know was OMJ killing me. We decided to not use these others ideas as we needed a bigger production space other than the CPA(needed the whole school). We discussed our ideas with the year 10’s, Cameron and Abhinav, and of course, they loved the idea but they said it has to be really funny(good acting). Old man Jenkins which has an even personality inside that is provoked by a character named Bonqisha-Nish-Dingaloo goes out of their ways to stop each other with a handful of comedy and horror. Something that we could have done differently is to plan every single scene and not just free-hand it. This affected our time usage as we had to think about what we were going to do. We had good ideas but could easily get side track. 

SECTION 2 Production

We used a camera, an audio recorder and a tripod to film our movie. We used the standard camera to record our footage, an audio recorder to create an effect of a background voice or a voice over and a tripod to hold the camera. Something that kind of worked well for us is that we were able to produce a very good idea using the equipment that was provided to us, something that didn’t work well for us was that we would always pick up the quarter charged batteries and we could have improved our use of technology by finding more time to explore more technology evaluable to use. That we needed more time as we wouldn’t always get the scene first try. One thing we needed to improve on is to do more things at home and stop leaving everything last minute.

SECTION 3 Post Production

We would go into groups of two and work on half of the editing as this was more time-efficient. We used a lot of functions in premier pro ultra key, text, directional blur, posturize time, music, and sound effects. Something that went well during this process was that splitting up the editing instead of one person doing it would finish the job quicker and would be easier for everyone. Something we needed to do when editing to explore more functions in premiere pro so our film would look better.

SECTION 4 FINAL EVALUATION

The best aspect of our production was definitely filming as it was the most fun part of creating a film production. To be honest I learned a lot of things from choosing media as my elective including how to properly use a camera other than just pressing the record button, how to act, the production procedure and how to plan a script. Something that we could have done better is to use a microphone more often throughout our film so that we have a common standard quality of our audio throughout our film
