In 2021 I trailed for WABAL (Western Australia Basketball League). The trials happened start of 2021. I trailed for Cockburn Cougars. I was there because I love basketball and it is the next step in my way to becoming better at basketball. There was a lot of other girls also trialling for a spot in one of the three teams. I got a spot in team 3 after the teams were decided. I really enjoyed the trialling process was challenging. This was my first-time trialling for WABAL, so I was happy with my team placement. I was put in a team with my best friend, so we were happy with our team placement. When I look back at the games, I played with that team feel proud I made it into WABAL with all the other girls. The trialling process was also a little scarer because all the other girls knew each other, and this was my first time. I think I tried hard, but I could have improved on my dribbling control because all the other girls had great control over the ball when they were dribbling. The positives of getting to Wabal were that I could improve I think I improved a lot of the season. The negatives were that I had a lot less free time.  I learnt how much I love basketball, I met a lot of other people who loved basketball like me, I became really close to one of coaches and she is my favourite coach I have had because she has helped a lot in that season. I also learnt a lot more about basketball. I think I tried hard, but I could have practised more outside of training. I need to work on my control and defence to make sure they are good for next time I trial. This year I just finished my trial for this year. This season I had to trial for under 16’s so I was the youngest and the shortest. I definitely thought this gave me a bit of a disadvantage, but I gave it 100% of effort I was chosen as a train on which I was happy with because I am the youngest and I will try even harder next year. My goal for next year is to aim for team 2 or higher. Overall, I enjoyed this process.
