As an active member of the 2022 Stirling House Council, I undertook the responsibility of organizing a fundraiser for Beyond Blue and by doing so our council had decided to revive the successful bake sale from previous years.
We utilized various advertising methods such as creating eye-catching posters and placing them all throughout the school, delivering speeches during the morning chapel services as well as personally visiting tutor groups to spread the word.
On the day, we had our 25-minute selling period and we managed to raise an impressive sum of $450, all of which will be going towards supporting Beyond Blue’s vital work.
Beyond Blue plays a crucial role in providing information and support to individuals across Australia, helping them attain optimal mental health regardless of their age or location.
Engaging in this fundraising endeavour has allowed me to harness my collaboration, teamwork and communication skills, as well as develop effective time management techniques.
Coordinating with my fellow council members and actively engaging with the school community has been a valuable experience, one that has strengthened my ability in working with others towards a common goal.
By participating in this fundraiser, I not only contributed to the important cause of mental health support but also gained personal growth and a greater understanding of the impact we can make when we come together for a shared purpose.
