Renewable Resources Research

What is a renewable resource?

A renewable resource is something that is reliable, sustainable and reusable. A non-renewable resource would be something like fossil fuels. It is limited and not environmentally friendly. But a renewable resource is something that in theory will never run out. Like the wind, the sun or heat.

Wind Power

Wind power is power from wind. The are massive buildings with a big spinning turbine. They cost 1-2 cents per kilowatt hour produced and costs upwards of 1-5 million dollars to build.

Solar Power

Solar panels are energy that is powered by the sun. They can also power the temperature of water. They can cost between 100-1000 per panel and they can produce between 250-400 watts an hour!

Coal Power

Is a non-renewable source of energy. It burns coal to produce power. Coal power can cost about 8 cents a watt of power, but no extra costs!

Greywater Recycling

Impacts of the water cycle.

There is many things that can impact and damage the water cycle. There is many different things that effect the water cycle. Here are some of them…

  • Acid rain can leach aluminium from soil clay particles. Then it can leak into the rivers, damns, lakes etc.
  • Pollution can significantly affect the water cycle by reducing the amount of solar radiation entering our planet. Because the smoke weakens the suns rays. This causes the amount of water evaporating to decrease.

What is Greywater Recycling

Grey water is wasted water from non-toilet like plumbing systems. You can grey water recycle by maybe even doing something as simple as placing a bucket beneath you when you shower. After that you can recycle the excess water in the bucket to do something else that involves water. Overall grey water recycling can save you water.
