HASS Progress update 2

Since our last progress update, we still had a lot to do. We have made more progress and are closer to finishing. We have now purchased the square card reader from office works so we can take card payments. We are going to get that set up this week and ready for use. We have also decided where we are going to buy our sausages. We phoned multiple suppliers to get a quote for 150 sausages. After getting the quotes we compared them all to find out it would be cheapest to purchase our sausages from coles. We are buying seven packs of 24 sausages that cost $7 each. The sausages will cost us $77 in total. We have also contacted the facilities office and booked two barbeques and two tables. We have also made the sheet we will use for customers to select their chosen charity. We have selected food for the hungry, Uniting charity, Unicef and Salvation army. We have picked some charities that help provide food as that is what we are doing on the night. The feedback we have received was to be more cost-efficient. The way we solved this problem was by getting Hayden to talk to his manager at Coles to receive a 10% discount for our purchases. This helps as our sausages, sauces and onions are from Coles. The other piece of feedback we received was to improve our budget plan. We then did some more research on how to do one and have an improved budget plan.

What we have done:

  • Chosen our supplier of buns – price and amount confirmed
  • Confirmed how much money and distribution of it in our float
  • Decided on price – $3 hotdogs $2 drinks
  • Chosen where we will purchase our condiments
  • Selected what cooking utensils we will use
  • Selected potential charities that we can donate profits to
  • Purchase and set up square reader
  • Decided on when and where we will buy sausages
  • Booked tables and bbq’s for the night

What we have to do and when we will do it:

  • Finalise on drinks – by the end of week 2
  • Once we know the rest of our prices make a budget – end of week 3
  • Finish off our business plan – end of week 3
  • We will spend weeks 4-5 designing our stall and finishing off any last work
