This Innovate ED project was all about using old used jewelry and taking them apart to upcycle it and make brand new bracelets, rings, photo frames, and phone charms.

During this project, we knew that our aim/goal of this project was to give this jewelry (mainly the bracelets) to the Perths children’s hospital, But, we did a bit of research but soon found out that they wouldn’t allow us to give the children our recycled jewelry. So we had the idea of selling all of our jewelry at the market that took place on Thursday the 26th of May 2022, and that we would give all the proceeds/money to the hospital, so we did, and we ended up donating $117 to the Perths children’s hospital.

The process in which the recycled jewelry was made:

  • First, we bought a bag of used jewelry from a thrift store
  • Then we were sorting and dismantled all of the old recycled jewelry.
  • We then started designing our bracelet
  • Then, we started collecting all of our beads and started creating the final products
  • After that, we started working on ideas for our packaging, creating logos/names, and also fining and creating emails to send to some people who work at different hospitals to try and figure out whether or not we can give these bracelets to them (it turns out we cant, so we are going to sell them at a market and donate all of the money to the Perth children’s hospital)
  • We also fixed and made sure the bracelets are top quality
  • We are working on our packaging
  • Then we worked on our stall design for the market that took place on Thursday the 26th of May 2022 (in total we made $117)

Thanks!
