Art Time- Come on, grab your friends!

In Year 8, one of our goals is to use your capabilities. In this post, I will be talking about a project I am proud of that used my capabilities.

In Project X, you get 5 rotations: Media, Art, Music, Drama, and Dance. In my last rotation, I got art, and found it fun so I decided for term four where you could choose what subject to do I thought I would pick it.

In art, I had to prepare and paint a violin inspired by elements from album covers. I am proud of this because it demonstrates my capability to be creative.

I painted the treehouse from Adventure Time on my violin, because I really like the cartoon. But I didn’t just copy it line for line. I had to incorporate shading and how to add texture as well, and how to make it original and my own. I ended up making it in a more 3d style as a contrast to the 2d cartoon to try and give myself a challenge and to make it more creative. I also tried to make the painting engaging with colour and, and pick colours that went well with each other as artists do with their albums.

This also shows my collaboration skills as I discussed with others about my violin and what wouldn’t and would work.

In conclusion, the art task this term has been very fun for me, and has been a great way for me to demonstrate capabilities that I will certainly use in the future.
