Planting 260 Trees in 2 Hours

For one of my electives we had to choose a global goal and work to try and solve that goal. I personally did “Land On Life” and made bird boxes for the native Australian Ring Necks (There is another post on that). However, one of the other groups choose to plant trees along the Bull Creek river to help remove contaminates before it merged with the Swan River. Whilst I know little about how they did it, I know that they teamed up with “Friends of Gabbiljee” (A local community service volunteer group) and managed to get a hold of 260 tree saplings to plant just out side of Allsaints’ College.

They invited a select bunch of students to attend this event, one of which was me. We went down to the river and had much fun planting the trees. We learnt so much about the land and definitely grew our knowledge of Teamwork, Aboriginal Names and Culture and Community service.

Within 2 hours of hard work we managed to plant all 260 tree saplings. Attached below are some photos of the event.
