In English this year, I can undoubtedly see that I have improved since last year. This year I have really enjoyed the projects and tasks in groups in English more than the in-class tests. Some of these include the teenager oral presentation, the creation of a podcast and feature article, which I could use my creativity to my advantage.

Two of my highest marks being at 80% for this year were for the novel essay and composition of a narrative. The steps I took to achieve that mark for the novel essay were to discuss they key themes ideas with my tutor and family and re-read key parts of the novel. I also attempted to complete some practice questions prior to the essay so that I felt confident and prepared for the essay. Throughout this year I could also very conspicuously see that my essay TEAL structure had improved since the start of the year from my tutor and focus on it, which ameliorated my overall average and individual essay marks in each test. In relation to the composition of a narrative, I could use my abilities and love for murder mystery movies to construct a suspenseful and engaging story for the reader. I could also ask for feedback from my friends and family, which was immensely helpful in editing and making my story better. My feelings after receiving my marks this year were usually quite delighted however some of the times, I felt as if I could have done better, however found the feedback given by our teacher helpful to take on for future assessments and review with my tutor.

Next year I hope to improve my analysis skills of feature films, texts, or images and at the busy times of the year like the dance concert to keep on top of my tests and assessments and not let that effect my marks. I hope to do English Engagement next year and continue to meliorate of the course of the year in English.
