In year six, my class and I worked with the Salvation Army to help the people in need. The first step of the process was to have hampers where we would donate things like toilet paper and hand sanitiser. After a set time (1 week), we would then select people to bring it to the collection site, where the salvation army would collect it and use to help homeless people.
After doing this for some time, my class and I went on an excursion to a salvation army in central Perth, where we explored all of the donated items, and the systems and measures in place to help all the people in need.
Afterwards, we learned more about the different “Hubs” the salvation army had all around the world, where all people could get help for different issues.
Overall, it was a very exclusive experience, and I learned a lot of valuable things from it.
