About Elliot

Hello Reader,

My name is Elliot Sarmidi, I am a Year 10 student of All Saints’ College and am proudly part of the Forest Family 🌳

One thing that I could say about myself is that I try my best at everything I do. I definitely seek the feeling of success after hard work because I know it pays off. A quote that I will never forget is:

“The harder you work for something, the greater you’ll feel when you achieve it”

Travelling is a big part of my life, even though It hasn’t seemed like I have travelled for ages due to the pandemic. My family and I have been to many countries around the world, these countries range from the border of North Korea to the beautiful city of Italy. My travel experience hasn’t always been about a holiday, for the most part, I have travelled to less economically developed parts of Asia to help people in need. I would go on these trips with my family, friends and other supporters in the hope to provide those in need of dentistry, medicine, glasses to see, clothes, food and clean drinking water. We would provide the younger kids with books, snacks, stationery and much more. These trips always produce fun memories with friends, meeting new people, and the satisfaction of hard work.

I enjoy learning, especially mathematics and economics, but in my spare time, I catch myself scrolling through YouTube or Tiktok. On off days I enjoy playing the piano and have been for the past 7 years, I love playing pieces of famous music whether it be contemporary or classical. My other hobbies include playing basketball with my friends, on a team, or myself. I am a part of ASC 007, a domestic team at Willetton Basketball, I have been part of this team for 3 years, and I have grown into a team leader as teammates have come and go.

All Saints’ College has taught me to always learn from my mistakes, in past using the term “Flearning’. The concept of failing and learning from that mistake and doing it better next time. I pride myself in never making the same mistake twice, this can be shown through my 2021 summer basketball season. My team had struggles working together, communicating effectively, and being resilient. We finished the season 4th on the ladder, subsequently losing in the semi-finals. I noticed that our team needed a vocal leader to grasp our team together and get everyone on the same page. The very next season we had won the finals and had gone undefeated in the regular season.

I wish to pursue a path in Physiotherapy that requires me to undertake a variety of academic, clinical and science courses including biomedical, physical and behavioural science. The required ATAR for physiotherapy is on average approximately 90, which may be challenging but definitely not impossible with hard work. The reason I fell in love with the idea of physiotherapy is the fact that I love helping people manage their struggles and love talking to people about their needs

The prerequisite for the bachelor of physiotherapy was chemistry and applications math. I ended up choosing chemistry, mathematics methods, economics, English, and Physical Educational studies for my ATAR subjects. These 5 subjects are both very demanding in time and work. I hope I do well in these subjects.

I will most definitely be learning with the guidance of my teachers and peers to help me create a suitable path for the rest of my schooling life and the chapters after.

Kind Regards

Elliot Sarmidi
