My Strengths

One of my strengths lies in chess. Chess has given me the skill of problem-solving and thinking through the potential moves that my opponent might make. I have been playing chess for more than three years now, but still have a long way to go. Problem-solving skills will improve my academic scores and grades and also the way that I think about the world.

Standard Chessboard

Karate is also something I excel in. I have taken lessons for over three years. This martial art has helped me build discipline. I have been learning the purpose of self-defence during the years that I have been doing karate. In karate, it is essential that you can be independent, which is a crucial skill to have. If you can’t be self-employed, you will not get very far because you can’t always count on others to help you.

Also, I enjoy playing cricket. Cricket has allowed me to develop myself as a team player and widen my comfort zone. In cricket, you must have faith in your teammates or your team will crumble from the inside. I have been playing cricket since I was six and have become a good player and a valuable team member. I am comfortable working with other people because I play with people of all ages. I gained a useful skill when I play cricket, teamwork.

Family Origin

I am originally from India. I migrated here when I was four and stayed with my uncle, who had already been here for quite some time. I stayed with my uncle for around six months and then moved into my first house. The primary school I went to was called St Anthony’s Catholic School. After yr 1, I moved again to Caladenia Primary School. I am currently a proud Australian Citizen.

Academic achievements

I am very good at mathematics. I started out hating this subject but, it has grown on me. I have done the AMC(Australian Mathematics Competition) for around four years now, and my score has steadily increased. I also excel in science. This subject is fascinating to me, and I want to study it more if possible and given a chance.

Hobbies

In my spare time(if I get any) I enjoy reading. I mainly read novels and adventure book, but I also like reading books about cars and science. Something that interests me as well is manga. Manga is a Japanese type of comic read from right to left but what makes it interesting is the adventure and the humour in it. I also like learning about Greek and Roman myths and legends. They interest me because some of them are extremely far fetched, and some might have some basis behind them.

Passions

Some things I am passionate about is the chance for everyone to have equality education. Education is one of many significant global goals. Without knowledge, people have to live off scraps and live off crimes. Educating people gives them the chance to learn and get employed so that they don’t have to face the embarrassment and judgement of being homeless, not having food, water and shelter.
