In year 9 drama class, I really enjoyed working as a productive team member while workshopping and performing the play “Fugee” by Abi Morgan. I believe I was a good team member as I was punctual for rehearsals, listened to others’ ideas and contributed ideas effectively during rehearsals. I kept to the timeline for having my lines memorised, so I was prepared for rehearsals. I received feedback from my drama teacher, Ms Parker, that I was always willing to offer ideas in the space and help creatively problem-solve. I felt this had a positive impact on the final performance. The experience I had was really fun due to the positive relationships I made with my proactive attitude. These positive relationships made it easier and more comfortable for me to perform with the other actors and led to a better performance. I also made sure to fully commit my time to this project so that it would be successful, doing things such as attending lengthy weekend rehearsals. The skills I learnt from being a team member in this drama production have helped me become a more effective team member when working with my peers in other subjects at school.
