Year 8 Healthy Role Model and Me

3 Most Important Values to Me

  1. Family/Friends

Family and Friends are important to me because they are the people who mean the most to me, who I care about and who I want/have fun times with and who I look up to. Family and Friends are the most important value to me because I always want to be at peace with them, I want them to always be happy.

Freedom

I put freedom as one of my most important values because I know that no one wants to be controlled or stuck somewhere without any choice. I think freedom is important because it is important for everyone’s wellbeing. I believe that if everyone had enough freedom then this world would be great, people would be happier and there would be less problems, like war, inequality, dictatorship, etc. If you give people freedom, it’s like letting a bird out of the cage. It would make them happy, and they would be more likely to make the community better.

Empathy

Empathy is important to me because every day I use it, and I am always trying to understand how people feel and I think about how I’d feel if I was in their situation. Because I care about people, I am always trying to relate to how they feel to see if I can make them happier or help with whatever they are sad about. I also think that empathy is important for everyone because if people use it when they make decisions, say something, or talk to people then they would try to empathize how they would feel if someone said/did something to them, and if everyone did that then everyone would be a lot happier, kinder and this planet would be way better.

Healthy Role Model: Volodymyr Zelensky

What behaviours does this person demonstrate to show that they are healthy role model? Volodymyr Zelensky is a great role model as he is determined to protect his county from the Russian invasion. He hasn’t given in to Vladimir Putin and he has made it clear that he wont let Russia take over Ukraine until everyone is dead. He also is not giving up.

What do they look like? Are they healthy? How do you know? Zelensky looks healthy physically, as he is only 44 years old, he is also mentally healthy as he doesn’t waste his peoples lives and do horrible things like Vladimir Putin has done.

What message does this person promote? Why is it inspiring and healthy? Zelensky is promoting that he is not going to let Russia take over the country and that he cares about his people. this is inspiring because people especially the Ukrainians need a leader/role model to look up to and have faith in to save their country. Zelensky is also promoting to stay determined and not break under all the pressure.

Why should young people look up to this person as a role model? Young people should look up to him because he cares about his people and country and that he doesn’t give up. Volodymyr Zelensky also goes to see his people at the front lines to make sure they are going ok and that they are doing it for a good cause. Doing that shows how amazingly brave he is.

Unhealthy Role Model: Vladimir Putin

  1. What behaviors does this person demonstrate to show that they are unhealthy? Vladimir Putin is a power hungry person he always wants more than what he has got. When he first started to rule russsia he wanted to expand his country into ukraine but the previous presednt made a peace treaty with ukraine. He wanted to use his power as the bigger country to over ride Ukraine now it has ended in war and fighting.
  1. What do they look like? Do they look
unhealthy? How do you know? Vladimir Putin has a round head with pale skin he always look grumpy which I don’t think is good for you. He is tall and look like he is in his 60s or 70s but now I know he is actually 69. I don’t necacerily think that he looks bad but many people say bad things about him so it could effect his mental health.
  1. What message does this celebrity promote? Why is it unhealthy? I think Vladimir Putin promotes solving problems with violence and war instead of peace and communication. I think this is unhealthy because he is disrupting the world with his declaration of war forming sides and wanting more power.
  1. Do you think young people should look up to
this person as a role model? Why or why not? I definetly think that people should not look up to Vladimir Putin because he has made our world a harder place to live in and nobody should look up to someone who wants so much power all for himself.
  1. Is everything you hear, read or see in the media true? Discuss. I don’t think people would lie about something so serious like Vladimir Putin’s constant attempts to overrun Ukraine. Some people lie on tv but in this instance I think they are telling the truth when they say bad things about Vladimir Putin.
