In semester 2 I started a new project. We worked on a new project about pest control. Our project’s aim was to produce a pesticide that would kill bugs like snails, slugs and others while being friendly to plants. The first thing we did was research different sprays. We found a lot of different recipes that included chili, garlic and soap/oil. We asked Ms Shine from the food room what they used for the garden bed and she gave us the recipe. We then made it and tested it on the plants. We did see a decrease in the number of pests in the gardens. We made a video to document our experiences. That ended term 3. In term 4 I joined a new group. We were making the aquaponics area look better. We got some junior school kids come and paint the wooden tables that we sanded down. We were going to varnish the table but the varnish turned out to dry white so we couldn’t. That sums up what we achieved this semester.
