LOCK Daytrip Reflection

I think going on our day trip to Dwelling up was a very fun experience. Going there I just wanted to have fun and participate in the activities as much as I could. I think I did do these things. When we got there out first activity was cooking. It was really fun, and I think it was the best activity through the whole day. We had to start the fire which was pretty easy and then we cooked on the plate. It was very black though and the food didn’t look that appetizing, but it tasted good and that’s all that matters.

The funniest part of the day was definitely when we were launching our kayaks of the steps and Charlie fell in. Another memorable experience was when we were on the double black ropes course and Marshall’s harness kept double locking. It took us a long time to finish it and it was really awkward as everyone was waiting for us.

On this course I have learnt that it is always fun to try something new and out of your comfort zone, especially when you are doing it with your friend. So, whenever I am nervous about doing something new, all I need is the support of friends.

Leave No Trace

The LNT principle that I think we have applied the most throughout the course is Principle 5: Minimizing Campfire Impacts. We have used this when making fires by burning down large pieces of wood and making sure that we are not leaving anything there.
