Working in a group of four we worked on a project that made us solve a real-life problem for the organization RAAFA. We had to solve their problem of food transport around their campus and design a well thought out prototype to pitch to them. This process started off making multiple design thinking process sheets while communicating as a team to look into the life of residents, who our client was and what their wants and needs were. This task helped build my empathy and built on my skills to communicate with others. This then took us on a tour of the campus allowing us to see certain things that would’ve come as a problem when prototyping and it allowed us to ask questions with their director of facilities Karina. This experience built my courage to ask people questions and for advice. Putting pen to paper our group drew up a rough sketch of what our product would be like and once we had finalised our ideas we pitched to Karina. This project gave us the experience of a real-life job and faced us with multiple challenges that we had to solve within a deadline. By doing this project I learnt to manage my time and not to stick with your first idea that you might have as it might not be the best.
