What we did:
Through out this semester my great bake off class participated in many events such as a cake celebration and the grazing board task. Apart from these events we also spent time in class better improving our baking skills. Through out the past two terms we have been busy making a range of different foods such as cookies, biscuits and cakes.
The Cake Celebration:
Towards the end of term 1, the great bake of class started to prep for the cake celebration. Zoe and I were hard at work designing our cake and learning many techniques for making sure we can make the best cake possible. Not only did this event better improve our cake making skills but it also allows us to work in a team. On the day of the event there was a lot of excitement to finally display the cakes we had made. Many people turned up to the event and we all had a great time.
The Grazing Table:
Half way through term 2 the great bake of class started to prepare for the grazing table task. This task consisted of making a range of different foods and displaying it at a celebration in a nice way. The food raged from cake to spring rolls. My partner and I made mini quiches and spring rolls. Making the spring rolls was very fun as we were able to learn the techniques of rolling the spring rolls. Overall it was a great success with many teachers coming along to enjoy the food we had made.
Overall, I and many other students had a great experience through the past two terms. I have improved my baking skills and will definitely recommend this as an elective.
