At the start of term 4, the entire year 7 cohort was introduced to the Christmas Market project. We got put into groups of 3 or 4, and the teachers gave us a $30 loan so we could go buy materials to make products for this project. So we went out to buy materials with our loan, and made our products together. We also made the packaging for our products and came up with the pricing for our products. On the day of our market, we all brought in a float for our stall ( money used for giving change to customers ). We set up our stall just before lunch time, put out all of our products out and added decorations to our stall. When lunch began, we started selling. We sold our products to year 5’s and up. We sold for the whole of lunch time. At the end of our selling we packed up and brought our stuff back to class. We then counted up all the money we made, and we had to pay the teachers back the $30 they gave us. We also got our float money back. Unfortunately, our group didn’t make a profit ( meaning we didn’t earn the amount spent buying, operating and producing our products ). But this project wasn’t about making a profit. It was more about learning about how to produce, and about marketing. A couple of days later we did a test reflection on this project. That’s it!
