About Me

Hello I am Fletcher Adams, a young, enthusiastic, intelligent, and kind kid, and I love participating in all different things because to me it makes me a stronger person and I get to learn new things. I came to All saints in 2022 as a year 7 and so far I love this school with it creating new opportunities for me. I am a young, enthusiastic, intelligent, and kind kid.

I have lots of Hobbies like drawing, riding on my E-Scooter and Para cording, Para cording is where you use a survival rope called paracord to weave bracelets, keychains, necklaces and even zipper pulls. I used to doing Rubix cubing and I loved it eventually I was so fast I got into Competitions. Now I have moved on from Rubix Cubing but I can still remember some moves and all the amazing achievements and memories I made.

Achievements

I know the true value of dedicated commitment and the rewards that follow as a consequence.

You might not believe it, and I don’t ever openly volunteer my personal journey with Cerebral Palsy (CP) but I am where I am today from A-LOT of routine hard work.

I have been doing intense weekly therapies including Physio & Occupational Therapy, since I was an infant.

My brain works differently to others, in that, all my gross motor skills and physical movement was learned through repetitive treatment. It didn’t necessarily come naturally. Even something as simple as kneeling was a skill many take for grated yet a huge milestone for me.

My balance and core strength has been a huge focus to maintain my goals.

My challenges are invisible to most but that’s makes my super power even more special as I shorten the gap each year of my young life so far to be just as capable as anyone else.

I love taekwondo and I’m currently a brown belt.

Not only have I reached and excelled all my personal goals and continue to set more I have helped others along the way.

At just 4 years of age I was a Step-a-thon Star for Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, raising over $4000, reaching my stepping goal and even being personally endorsed by Sarah Murdoch.

I was part of many studies and  used by the Physio team at Fremantle Notre Dame University as an example of the benefits of early intervention therapies because I excelled so well from continuous hard work, practice l and effort.

I am a big brother to 2 younger brothers and I take my role very seriously. I often help with many household duties including babysitting, cooking meals & helping keep our home clean. Mum says I need to be a kid more but I can’t help it, I’m always looking to help others and I see how hard my family work. Above all I know the power of the mind, and that with hard work, determination and commitment I am capable of achieving what ever I set my mind to and being a good person at the same time makes a difference in the world.

Capabilities

ASC Capabilities are 10 different defined aspects that make up a positive difference and In my life, I use many of them, like resilience, ethics, leadership, and, collaboration. In my life I am very resilient like for instance I always persist and try my hardest even in the toughest times, like when I get feedback on something I will take that into account and elaborate on the idea, and when I’m playing a sport, if I can’t do it I won’t give up and I will keep on trying my hardest, and I become stronger from this, I still am resilient to this day. I have very strong ethics since I was a kid, because I know what’s wrong and right but I also know when to stop or when to keep on trying, and say if I’m in class I will conduct myself in a quiet manner, I still do this to this day. I try and take leadership whenever possible since I like to e the director at school when in groups so not only can be giving goods ideas but good advice on what to do and how to do it, at home I take leadership in sometimes making dinner, to help out mum or even help play with the kids to keep them happy and not annoying mum, I try and take on a lot of responsibility and I think I can do it well. Finally I can collaborate with people in a group effectively, or I like to work with other people to help them along with me and we can get the job done faster as well as having different perspectives, I can collaborate well with people and help them.
