This year in innovatED we started a project called $20 boss. This project is where we get into groups of about 3-5 people and we each get $20 each person to start a business. You come up with a business idea/product and use the money provided to start up a business.

I was in a group with Katie, Kaiya, sienna, scarlet and Georgia. Georgia joined about 3 weeks before the end of the term so we went over 5 people whcih was ok. which meant that we would receive $120 if we were successful for our project. Our first 2 ideas (before georgia came) were to 1 to do tie dye clothes such as crop tops, long t-shirts, socks, and sets. our 2nd idea was to do Shrinky dink earrings and use recycled plastic to do it. We chose these two products because when we were doing our research on popular social media platforms, one of the most promoted things that we saw on tik toc and instragm especially was tie dye items, which this gave us the idea to start with tie dye.

We started to plan for these two products. We started with getting feed back from our class and teachers which lead us to chose to do the tie dye idea because in our feedback that was the most liked option and people said that they would buy it and be intrested. so we started to do some more research and get more feed back to start us with our bissnues on what was the most popular clothing items that we offer but people kept changing their minds and there were so many diffrent people telling us new ideas. They said jumpers but this would have been hard to find plain white cheap jumpers have costed a lot to get the stock.

In weeek 8 we got stuck and we decided as a team we need to switch on get started with a new idea. We didnt think the tie die was going to be very succesful as we didnt have much money to keep the stock we need to keep up with throughout. To start we threw ideas but we wernt very intrested and others wernt either. In week 9 we had a chose if we want to keep going with this and as a team we decided that we weren’t going to continue with $20 boss.
