Guides

Something I do outside of school is Guides. As a Girl Guide we do activities to help our community, we also challenge ourselves to do amazing things. We go to camps where we learn to defend ourselves in hostile environments like the bushlands. We are also taught how to live of trees and plants if we are lost in a heatwave. I love when we do activities like we have bake sales ( where we sell cookies) to help the sick, sometimes we make gifts to give to the elderly or young that are unwell. I enjoy the activities that we have that are based more around how Girl guides were created, for this, we have to do particular activities and we earn special badges. I have over 150 badges that I have earnt for over 5 years. We also learn basic skills like how to sew and to cook ourselves a good meal. I think that being a Girl Guide has given me lots of amazing opportunities which will be useful for when i am older. As an older Guide I have been given the opportunity to earn my Queen’s Guide award and badge. This consists of different services and leading activities for younger Girl Guides, i have completed almost a quarter of the award, the Queen’s Guide award is meant to take up to three years to earn, that is why it is the most important award a Girl Guide of my age can receive.
