Capabilities/Values
Three capabilities and values I believe define me are dedication, enthusiasm and leadership.
Dedication
Dedication is putting in the work and effort to do something to the best of your abilities. Whether this is handing in an assignment or playing in the AFL grand final, dedication will help. An example of when I showed dedication is when playing basketball. Playing and training 5 times a week requires resilience and especially dedication. Even if I have to wake up at 6am for a training feeling sore and tired I still push through it.
Enthusiasm
Enthusiasm is going into every task with excitement, curiosity and wanting to do your very best. Even if you are faced with a challenging task or a task you do not enjoy, you still need to enter it as if it is your favourite thing to do. Back in 2019 I was the blue faction captain. This means not only did I have to be a leader but I also needed to be enthusiastic. I would have to lead chants and cheering with enthusiasm on carnival days to get the students and also the people racing exited.
Leadership
And finally leadership. Leadership is being a positive role model, friend and peer to others. This doesn’t mean overruling and bossing people around but instead means trying to help and influence others in what they do, think and act. As a class representative in year 7, leadership was one of the most important value needed. Being a leader included helping out the class, running activities and being a positive role model.
