20$ Boss is an entrepreneur elective activity, which teaches the Year 8’s how to produce a product, and sell it in a market.

The Process

We began the process by brainstorming different ideas. I had a good understanding of what I wanted to do, as I had worked on this idea previously, in year 7. Later on after we had formed our groups, we prototyped our soap, yet we found it quite easy as we had prior experience.

During production, we selected some members of our group to create the soap, while others were tasked to create the packaging, the boxes. These were created very good, as many customers complemented our design.

The soaps sold exceptionally well, yet we only made $20 profit. That left us with $10 spending money, as we had to give 10% of our revenue to charity.

ASC Capabilities

Courage:

We used courage and determination to market our product on the day, and overcome having a bad stall location given to us.

Innovation:

We innovated and design a suitable product, so that it was appealing to our target audience.

In conclusion, this elective was a very fun and interesting project. It taught us a lot, and it made me find a passion for business/marketing.
