Year 9 Health Pledge

An essential piece of information I learnt was understanding that well-being is fundamental for our health and approaching life through a positive and joyful perspective. Additionally, I’ve come to the realisation that well-being is generally underrated, and people should understand that well-being can solve some of your issues whether that be stress-related, depression related, etc.

To the upcoming generations of young people, well-being will positively affect your life in numerous amounts of ways (perspective of life, general happiness, motivations etc). By taking the necessary time out of your lives to focus on yourself for just 10 minutes a day, you’ll eventually witness the results to be tremendous to your overall health and happiness.   

From now on, I pledge to get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep per night, as getting a long sleep can reduce stress, improves memory, and productivity, reduces inflammation etc. Additionally, I pledge to eat healthy throughout the week (with the exception of Saturday as a takeaway). The benefits of healthy consumption include reduced risk of heart disease, and increased focus and motivation. I’ll stick to these commitments by setting realistic short-term goals to achieve and once I’ve achieved those goals, I can then increase the difficulty and achieve more challenging and rewarding goals.
