Central Park Plunge

On the 27th of October I had the wonderful opportunity of participating in the Central Park Plunge. I had the chance to abseil down the RioTinto building, down 33 floors!!! It was a fundraising event, and I raised just over $5 000 for Anglicare WA. It was my first time ever participating in this event, and it was an unforgettable experience.

The Central Park Plunge, run by Zenith events, gives charities the opportunity to raise vital funds for their cause. Some of the charities included Guide Dogs WA, Anglicare WA, Fiona Wood foundation, 12 buckets and Activ. It was an honour to be a part of this event, and I felt like I was making a real difference to those in need.

The view from the top of the tower was incredible, and joined by ABC reporter Michael Tetlow, Don Rock (the wisest abseiler) and CEO of Anglicare WA, Mark Gleeson, we began our descent down the building. Supported by a magnificent crew, we safely made our way back onto solid ground, where we were greeted by our supporters and Anglicare staff.

Anglicare WA supports so many individuals across the state, and I think their work is so important.

Thank you to all of the staff who made this day possible, organising the day and ensuring our safety throughout out trip. A massive thank you also to everyone who donated to my cause, helping

Thank you to all of the staff who made this day possible, organising the day and ensuring our safety throughout out trip. A massive thank you also to everyone who donated to my cause, helping me smash my fundraising goal and making the world a better place. My mum was also my biggest supporter throughout the process, reaching out to people to get them to donate, helping me raise money and keeping me organised.

At the end of the plunge we each received a bag with a Central Park Plunge T-shirt, resources about homelessness in WA, and an Anglicare key chain.

The plunge was unlike anything I have ever experienced before, and I was so grateful for the opportunity to participate and fundraise for a cause that I care so deeply about.
