For this task we needed to take a picture from a bird’s perspective, and another from a worms. My birds eye picture is the first picture of the purple flowers. I like the detail in the image and how bright the colour of the flowers it; it really pops against the solid green background. I would change the framing to get the whole flower and not cutting it off at the top and trying to make sure that the picture is not over-exposed like the closest flower is, letting us see the colour of the flower and not just white. Another improvement I would make is to try and get a picture from higher up and looking down, more like an actual bird’s point of view. It was hard to find an interesting bird’s eye scene without being able to go inside and take a picture out of a high window. Doing this and being able to get more of a ‘bird’s eye shot’ would have not only allowed me to get more out of the task but also allow me to be more creative in what I did, trying to work with the challenge and not resorting back to something easy and that I know how to do, take pictures of flowers. Instead, I should have been more resilient to find a solution to the issue instead of avoiding it, something I can work on in tasks to follow.
The next two images are pictures from a worm’s point of view. I have two pictures because I really like them both, but like them for different reasons. I like the second image, the flowers, as the lighting is nice and golden, almost like the worm is wriggling through wild forest flowers in woods back in Scotland. But I like the second image as its more what a worm would see here in Australia. I feel like you are the worm that is moving through the grass. I also like the framing in this photo as the centre is focused and the outsides blurry, and the water droplets are very clear. For all my images I feel that the focal point is clear, and nothing really distracts from that.
A reason that someone may use a high angle in photos is to make the subject in the photo seem small, scared and powerless. This is compared to a low angle shot, which make the subject seem the opposite; powerful and brave.
Photographers use these techniques so that the audience can feel what the subject in the photo is feeling, what is going through their mind, and allow them to better portray the message behind their photo.
Some nice close up. To improve you could get lower for your low angle shot, it may make the image a little bit more creative. To improve the image of the two purple flowers I would crop it so both flowers are more centred.
OMG there so pretty !!
