In visual arts, we were making coral bommies which is a large round clump of reef that houses schools of fish, we also made fish to put on top of the coral bommies when they were done.

We made the coral bommie’s out of clay, first off we made punch pots after we got them quite big and smooth we added coils and other shapes to make the coral on top. The fish were made out of Fimo which is a soft colourful clay that you bake.

Filling in all the space on the outside with interesting patterns of coral is really complicated, what I found most challenging was that we did not have many lessons to complete this project as other events took up some of our art lessons.

Although some of the time it might have been challenging in the end I had a great artwork that I could bring home and show my parents.
