On the 2nd of September, a mini event was held called Runway on the Common, where students would set up stalls to promote their business and/or sell their products. We used this event as an attempt to gain feedback from students and teachers on our business.
This did not go as planned. There wasn’t any staff walking around and there weren’t too many students who took interest. Those who did had a quick glance and then moved on. This lack of feedback actually gave us quite a lot of information. We knew that students weren’t looking to promote their businesses or an event (with the exception of the other students in our class that were also at the market), the people that would be looking for a promotional video are the staff members around the college.
The staff are responsible for holding events so they are the only people who would be looking to advertise. We found that it would be much better for us to reach out to the event coordinator when an event is being held. If we are successful, we will then organise payments, when the video should be ready by, how the video should be styled, and what recording needs to be done.
