This term I was able to perform a solo at the Music Scholarship concert for this year.

I sang ‘My Grand Plan’ from the Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief musical by Rob Rokicki & Kristin Stokes. It is a powerful and empowering song that captures the determination and resilience of the character Annabeth from the musical “The Lightning Thief.”

The song delves into Annabeth’s struggle with feeling unnoticed and her determination to be recognized for her strengths and abilities.

The lyrics convey Annabeth’s intelligence and her history of academic success. Being a “smart girl” has always defined her, but she realizes that intelligence alone isn’t enough to succeed in life. She recognizes that there are limitations to simply being smart and that it’s not a guarantee for achieving her goals.

I really enjoyed performing this empowering song for the concert.
