On the last week of Term 3, the whole Year 7 of All Saints’ College went on a camp to Forest Edge at Waroona.
This was a 4 day long trip which consisted of multiple activities. We all left school on Tuesday, 8:45 am and travelled for one and a half hours to Waroona. There, we were warmly welcomed by a crew of instructors: Brook, Jaz, Shev, Cozzie and Ben.
Over the following days we participated in many exciting experiences. From camping out in the bush (overnight camp) to descending from a 20 metre-high wall (abseiling), from finding our way through the outback (orienteering) to making our own painted knapsacks using screen printing, there wasn’t anybody who didn’t learn anything.
We had to use our powers of teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, communication and self-management. We all persevered through the experience no matter the challenge.
Personally, I enjoyed this excursion as I got to exceed my comfort zone, and also by doing so with my friends. I made new friendships, gained new knowledge and developed new skills.
I hope there will be similar experiences in the coming years.
