Rock Band Workshop

ROCK BAND WORKSHOP

On Tuesday, 15th of October, I had the opportunity to take part in a Rock Band Workshop. Our band, Permanent Mayhem, was given the privilege to work with members of the WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts). We all learnt something from the members; Mike taught me some tricks on the Piano and made sure Callum played the drums in time. Shani gave Sashana some tips in singing and our guitarists, Joshua and Noah, learnt the importance of balance in their roles. All this feedback will be used to make our songs better.

We will soon be playing in an upcoming concert- ASC Rock Bands: Unplugged. This concert is an opportunity to showcase all the skills and lessons we have learnt throughout the year as a band. We will be playing 3 songs, including All Star by Smash Mouth and Bring It All Home to Me by Sam Smith.

A big thank you to Mr Garner, who never ever thought our songs were good, and always forced us to make our songs at least a little bit better.

The power of teamwork is what kept us together, and once Year 7 is done (and Year 8 for Noah), we hope this band will carry on to the next few years.
