This year I went to Kalbarri as a part of our year 9 camp where we participated in many activities that fostered leadership and teamwork opportunities. Cooking was a main part of the experience as we had to organise and prepare all our own food. We had to work together to pack it all into our hiking bags and share it evenly among everyone. Doing this required teamwork because we all had to work together to carry and make all of our food. Leadership was really important as some people had to take charge of distributing the food and when we were making lunch for the whole group, we needed to know what everyone needed to do. This meant that some people had to help organise each other so that we could achieve what we needed to do. When we were cooking at night, I had to use teamwork and leadership when organising who’s going to do what. We decided to split it up evenly, so each night one person was responsible for washing and cooking, this meant that we all got to have a go at doing each thing.
On the hiking we had to use teamwork to make sure everyone was safe and that we were going at a good speed for everyone. We put the slowest people at the front so that they didn’t get left behind. Using teamwork is important so that we all work together. Leadership was used by people who had to guide the group through all our hikes and use the maps to direct us. When we got to four ways, I volunteered to go back up to the top of the mountain to get water for the group. This showed teamwork because I went up there to do something to help everyone out and it made something good for everyone. On the hikes our whole group had to look out for each other and help everyone and in case some people fell over we had to help each other up. Some people were struggling to carry their bags so we had to share our bags with them so it was a bit lighter and we could help take some of their stuff. When we were hiking, we had to carry all our equipment and tents and the group items had
