Week 2- project update

Context: in mandarin we are working on a project to be presented to other schools in relation to increasing the participation of the Chinese community within All Saints’ in events such as the P+F cookup and Food frenzy, that focus on helping provide food for the homeless

This week we focused more on working within our groups after having established a more detailed plan of what the aim of our project is. Following our meeting with Mr Corbett last week, we had a better idea of the ways we would be able to help increase the involvement of the Chinese community in school programs that help provide food for the homeless (P+F cookup and the Food Frenzy). We also were able to gain more general information about these programs. We worked on translating some of the recipes that were a part of the Food Frenzy into Chinese. It was a bit difficult as most of the vocabulary was new, and some of the translations we did had to be modified because they were too literal, however we managed to translate most of the first recipe. Other groups in the class worked on finding easy Chinese recipes that could be incorporated into the P+F cookup, a fact sheet, and a video. We also contacted Mr Hamilton and Ms Osmetti in hopes that we will be able to meet them next week for help with documenting our project.
