House contributions

As a house councillor from year 9 to now in year 11, I have actively sought many opportunities to lead within Murdoch house. I have marshalled years 7 and 8 in swimming carnivals, as well as coached year 7 interhouse sport. I have also helped organise and lead different activities for house day, and other house events like fundraisers. However, I believe as a current peer support leader, getting to know the Murdoch year 8s, planning educational activities for them, as well as most importantly leading the activities and discussions, has been one of the biggest leadership roles I have taken on as a part of Murdoch house.

Since the beginning of highschool I have involved myself in a variety of house activities including interhouse sport, interhouse quiz, house choir, and helped lead groups in other house activities such as the treasure hunts and Easter egg hunts, where I was able to connect with students in younger year groups. I have put my name forward to be a part of the house council every year since year 9, and have been successful. I am also a current peer support leader. I have been involved with many fundraisers such as the ice cream fundraiser earlier this year, the bake sale, pizza fundraiser and crepe stall at the pasar malam that the Murdoch council have organised in the past.

Mentoring at church

This week I had the opportunity to mentor a new volunteer at church. Every month I serve multiple times in the production team. The team as a whole has the job of running the livestreams and capturing the sermons. I joined the team a while ago, as the youngest recruit, however over the past year I have had the opportunity to mentor and teach two new volunteers, both in year 7.

Since the beginning of highschool I have actively engaged in many music opportunities. I was a part of the college choir up until year 10, as well as Amati string ensemble in year 7 and year 8. I currently participate in Symphony Orchestra and Stradivarius string ensemble as a violinist, as well as in Senior wind ensemble and clarinet ensemble.

As a part of my involvement in music, in past years I have attended music camp and the music big day out. I have also performed in college concerts since year 7 as a part of Symphony orchestra, Stradivarius string ensemble, clarinet ensemble, and senior wind ensemble. Additionally, I have also competed in eisteddfods with the college choir, Amati string ensemble, and most recently, senior wind ensemble. I have taken many performance opportunities, performing in recitals with solo clarinet, as well as performing in afternoon tea concerts, and at Wanju.

I consistently attend rehearsals and performances, as well as competitions. Even within the various ensembles that I am a part of, I have shown leadership through being ensemble captain, as well as section leader in various instances.
