The Next Step

Customer validation and review is a way to figure out whether your business is worth continuing or not. We were given the opportunity to test out our product on our potential market.

The Day

( I wasn’t present on the actual day of survey, so all the information about the day was either told to me or I had some prior information about.)

Samantha had set up a stall were we had our prototype, a brief PowerPoint ( which summarised what our business was about) and a tablet to fill out a survey about our product. We asked for feedback about the product (whether it would be worth buying), whether the material was nice and how much they were willing to pay. Although this process was voluntary we still managed to get 30 people to fill out our survey. We achieved this through a reward when they complete the survey ( a free Mentos ). This however could create false results as some may have just done the survey to receive a free Mentos.

The Data

The following are all data from forms.

The person that said “No” to this has also said “No” to all other questions. Meaning that they might just be in for the free Mentos.
To figure out what the target audience feels about our product. This is a pretty good rating considering we had limited things to show them.
Considering that we had a rough prototype ready for them to see and not an actual finished one, therefore impacting what they can visualise. It is good that majority are willing to buy our products as it is an indicator that we should continue this business. If majority had said otherwise then we might have had to abandon our product idea and switch to something more accommodating to the market.

As we were unsure what to exactly price our product this gave us an indicator as to how much our target audience is willing to spend on our product.

These are the responses from people that said they “might” buy the product. We asked them what should we change that would convince them to buy the pouch. Concluding that some had concerns about the fabric and the colour.

From Now On

This process of surveying helped to solidify our beliefs in our business, concluding it is a worthwhile to continue it. We will take the feedback on board to ensure that we reach a wide range of people for our aimed target audience.
