Nowadays in our society so many young people are blinded by the thought that you should never fail, lose or do bad, that when that does happen, they cannot comprehend how to bounce back. This quote above resembles with me a lot because it shows the importance of integrity and determination. If you ever fail, lose or not do as well in something as you wished, you should not completely dismiss yourself, you should take it on the chin and bounce back even harder.

Hello, my name is Tanaka Munyikwa. I’m fifteen years old born on 31/05/07 and I currently attend All Saints’ College in Western Australia. I have been attending All Saints since 2019 (Year 7 Entry) and since then I have loved it. I am a trustworthy individual and I believe that integrity and determination are the two most important skills that someone should have. My hobbies are playing video games, listening to music or playing sports. During my spare time I love to go out with friends, do my hobbies or go to charity events and community service. By doing this it makes me happy as it puts a smile on my face when I put one on others.

When I first came to All Saints in 2019, my grades were ok, but they were not as good as my parents and I wanted to be. Despite my grades being okay as I move through 2020 and 2021 my grades got even worse. Test after test, I would get high-low 60’s and no matter how hard I studied or tried I kept doing bad. This caused me to not care about school as much as I used to and I was at my lowest point. However going into 2022 I decided that I would pledge to myself to do better in school and work on myself as a person. This worked very well and since then I have gotten the best grades I have ever had getting top scores in the classes and averaging an A for all of my MESH (Math, English, Science, Hass). By using integrity, I told myself the truth, my grades weren’t good and if I wanted to be successful in life this would not be the path I would want to take. I used determination to bounce back, study even harder, and as said by the quote “rise every time we fall”. 

This story is important to me as it shows why integrity and determination are the two most important skills and I believe it will show others that you will always have an opportunity to rise when you fall… Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day
