Thank you, Basketball.

As I sit down to reflect on the past ten years of my life, one constant upcoming of basketball memories flow through my mind. From the early days of the All Saints College Basketball Club to the end of my basketball career at all saints, basketball has been more than just a game for me—it’s been a journey of growth, gratitude, and invaluable life lessons.

I still remember the excitement and anticipation of being part of the founding group of students and families that created the first basketball team at All Saints College. Little did I know then that this decision would shape the course of my life in ways I could never have imagined.

Over the past decade, basketball has been something I could always rely on to express myself, offering me moments of triumph and challenge, joy and heartbreak. It has been a source of comfort during difficult times and a platform for celebration during moments of victory. But above all, it has been a teacher, imparting invaluable lessons that extend far beyond the rules of the court.

Gratitude fills my heart as I look back on the countless hours spent on the hardwood court, honing my skills and pushing myself to new heights (not literally, still I am quite the short player). The All Saints College Basketball Club has provided me with a supportive community of teammates, coaches, and supporters who have cheered me on through every victory and stood by me during every defeat. For their unwavering belief in my abilities and their endless encouragement, I am eternally grateful.

But basketball has given me more than just athletic achievements—it has shaped me into the person I am today. Through the highs and lows of competition, I have learned the true value of teamwork, communication, and perseverance. Every practice, every game, every championship title has all been thanks to the power of collaboration and unity in pursuit of a common goal.

The accolades I’ve received over the years: nine MVP awards, six championship titles, one Defensive Player of the Year award, and three Coaches’ Awards, these awards are not just symbols of individual achievement, but reflections of the collective effort and dedication of everyone who has supported me along this journey. Each trophy represents a backstory and countless hours of hardwork to earn them, a testament to the strength of our team and the bonds forged on and off the court.

As I bid farewell to my high school years and prepare to embark on the next chapter of my life, I carry with me the lessons learned on the basketball court—lessons of resilience, determination, and the unwavering belief that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. And as I look ahead to the future, I am filled with gratitude for the game that has given me so much and shaped me into the person I am proud to be today.

So here’s to basketball—my greatest teacher, my greatest competitor, and my dearest friend. Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and the lifelong friendships. I am forever grateful for the journey you have taken me on, and I can’t wait to see where the ball dribbles off to next.
