Refection on $20 Boss

My Finished Products

$20 Boss is where you begin with a $20 loan, and then you try to make a profit. I started by researching my target audience. And I found that they wanted a cheap and easy to use phone stand. I strived to make my product sustainable and eco-friendly (Hence the name – Sustainable Plastic Perth). I used the precious plastic machines to create this product after much prototyping of phone holder designs.

My Prototypes

I empathised with my audience when I was thinking about the earth about about how they would care. I then made 3 posters about the earth. Here is one.

One of my posters about the earth

I got feedback on the colours that people liked and then applied that when making more. I also received praise from many people and parents including the principal saying that this is a great idea and we need people like me in this world to save the earth.

In this project I worked alone. I have made over $150 at one market (My first one), and continue to flourish. There is no cost to the making of this product except time and electricity (Appliances) so I could make the product cheaper for the audience. I then managed to use all money as profit (None for reinvestment because none is required) and I used it to both save and to use in my other mechanical projects (The Plastic Extruder/3D printer filament producer costed just over $100).

Overall I learnt a lot about reaching target audience, budgeting and consumer needs.
