Water,
Example – 2 Rain water tanks that hold roughly 75 Litres of water each
Positive – the water that the rain water tanks collect can be used for things like drinking, cooking and cleaning, this is a positive because instead of using other water we can use the rain water instead so its not wasteful
Negative – It can be hard to harvest sufficient quantities because it is reliant on the rain
Improvements – In my house hold we use a lot of water in cooking if we cut down on that we could reduce water and also shower lengths, I could have my shower lengths to about 3 mins rather then 5-6 mins.
Energy
Example – Air fryer
Positive – they are more energy efficient then things live ovens or microwaves
Negative – Takes lots of water to clean out and easy to burn food
Improvements – making sure to turn lights off when not in a room or the TV if no-one is watching it
Recycling
Example – 10c Bin
Positive – having a bin for drink containers in return for 10c
Negative – Carelessly throwing away rubbish by not separating rubbish and throwing without knowing which bin to put things in
Improvements – Separating rubbish and putting it into the correct bin so that you do not put something easily recyclable into landfill
Food
Example – Compost tumbler
Positive – Faster composting and good use of old food scraps
Negative – too much food not being used or being thrown away
Improvements – Use more food in cooking rather then buying more food and then using that
