Project Utopia

Introduction:

This year we have been tasked with the idea of designing the new Fremantle port that could come into action. We had to use the ASC capabilities wheel and the UN Global Goals to guide us through the task, it helped us build on our ideas, made us think deeper and realise different things that we had to do to make it.

The UN Global Goals

This is the picture of the Fremantle port we are designing

Group work

We were put in a few random groups throughout the whole task to help our collaboration skills and to get different ideas and perspectives from other people. We went on an excursion to Fremantle to explore the place, we went to the maritime museum, the beach and through the Fremantle prison too. In groups we had to go to different places at different stages of the excursion. Then we made a storyboard filled with all our ideas, I was in a group with Liam and Aaliyah for that part. We then split into one more group to work on an end idea of what we wanted the port to look like. I was with Sam and Jake to present our ideas to teachers and parents.

This made me a better listener and collaborator because I was able to hear from different people about their ideas which gave me ideas to work on. It also made me more organised to have everything ready.

Future Of Fremantle

By Me, Aaliyah and Liam S

That is a photo of our InnovatED vision board we did this term. It shows what we think the Future Of Fremantle should look like. We wanted to make Fremantle a more sustainable place and community. We included a few global goals to show our learning and a few pictures to represent what we think it should look like in the future.

Ooshies

Over the past woolies have done a few ooshies collections where whenever you spend $30 at their stores you get 1 ooshie but the collection I’m going to talk about today is the collection with Disney+

Once these ooshies came out everyone wanted them and you would be the ‘king’ if you had one of the rarest ones back then. People would sell the best ones for lot’s of money on ebay and some of the people even decided to buy 1 ooshies for $1,000 and it would keep going up and up and up in price because of everyone wanting one. Now, I can say back then the only shop i wanted my parents and my grandparents was Woolworths because that’s where all these ooshies were selling at. I got quite carried away with this stuff and I wanted all of them.

The 3 rarest ooshies are now selling for under $10 when back then you would have to spend loads of money just for 1

Q2. After watching “Tulip Mania”, how will you protect the wealth of your City if the World Bank devalues the Red Tulip (or no longer accepts it as a form of payment)?

In our city we have lots of resources so we are always available to have different forms of payment. We have diamonds and so I think that will be a popular plan b of a payment. We could maybe use up our tulips for resources just incase there is a change in payment.

Q3. Why is it important for Cities to have “cool stuff”, to have “wealth, and to be “inclusive”?

Cool stuff is in my opinion ,crucial to having a god city. Its a way to sit back and relax. Our citizens will have fun with cool stuff in the city. They will just want to leave if its boring and nothing fun to do.

Without wealth in your city you wouldn’t have any money. You wouldn’t be able to buy anything fun to do. The city will not be running well if you have no wealth.

In your city you would want the most people in your city. If your city is only fit for people who like sports then the people who don’t like sports will want to leave immediately. You have to be inclusive and make things that everyone wants and likes to do.

Q4. What have you enjoyed about this Inquiry?

A side from all the Minecraft I have enjoyed learning about how parliament works, the different voting systems and learning about laws. Putting our economic skills into Minecraft has been fun and actually running our own city. Jun and Anton have been fun to work with because we can share our own ideas about economics that maybe one person in our group doesn’t know. I think J.A.Z’s Minecraft skills have really helped us in building our city. I’m very excited about the war and what’s going to happen to our city!

Q5. What have you found difficult or frustrating about the Inquiry?  What changes would you make?

I have found it hard to build in creative because we have to use resources to build things but we have to spend some tulips to get the resources. I would think to maybe start learning about economics earlier in the year to get a better understanding, that would give us heaps of time to thoroughly make sure we know the tips and tricks about running a city.

Cool Stuff

Every city has to have cool things or else all the people that are in the city will be get so bored and will want to leave. They will not have any fun and will not have a good day in the city. In the city of J.A.Z we have built a whole McDonalds’, our aquarium called Aqua and a BIG sports stadium.

Wealth

The currency in WW.5 is Red Tulips 🌹 This is our currency that is very limited and hard to get but cities have now found different ways to earn more tulips to get richer. Mr. Wong has now told us that our cities are going to have war and this means all cities will be going mad and spending all their tulips for weapons and things that will help you to survive. Having the most tulips doesn’t mean you are the best city, you might not have as much resources as the other cities. 🌹

🌹45 stacks of 64 tulips!!!!

Stability

Having a stable government is what pedestrians want in a good, safe and running city. If a city/government is unstable nobody would want to go into the city because there will be lots of crimes will happen and the place, all up just wont be safe. Our parliament is stable with 2 levels of government. House of Representatives and the Senate. We have enough tulips for whenever we want to buy something we have lot’s of tulips to spare.

Inclusivity

Our city is inclusive and will respect everyone and their ideas. As our Constitutional Preamble reads, We the leaders of J.A.Z, declare Equality, fairness, respect, and integrity. We make sure everyone in the city gets a say and to welcome in all different people from many different places.
