Recycled jewellery

For InovatED, we wanted to make a difference for children in need by trying to make their a little better by creating recycled bracelets. We gathered old jewellery in op shops and then deconstructed it by removing the string and separating the beads. We picked the beads in containers and then sorted them into colours such as neutrals, reds, greens, blues and more categories. The next thing we did was start planning the types of beads we would use for the bracelets we would make.

After we planned our bracelet designs we would start making our bracelets. We collected the needed materials to make them and then after we had finished we would collect and sort them into categories.

we put extensive research into the hospital’s criteria for donations it turned out that they wouldn’t accept our bracelets because of sanitation even if they were heavily sanitised. It’s because they were already used.

After we decided to sell them at the market to raise money for the hospitals instead. we ended up making around $116 dollars to go to the royal Perth children’s hospital.
