My $20 Boss Experience

  1. What product did your group make?

Our group made image pillows, and the original plan was to have people send us their own images to put on the pillows. We made $106 with $1 profit. Throughout the weeks, we worked on advertisement, creating prototypes and looking at images to use for our pillows.

2. What did I learn?

I learned that I shouldn’t be doing everything in my group, and that I should be careful with the people that I work with. I found that at the end of the project, I did most of the work and we it caused me a lot of stress. Having a group where the workload is shared, and everyone works together to get the project finished, rather than giving all of the work to 1 or 2 people.

3. What capabilities did I develop?

The capabilities I developed were: Resilience and flexibility. When something wrong happened with the pillow making, I bounced back and tried again and it was better than before. I always tried again and eventually got through the project. I developed flexibility with how I found a solution to any problem in our group, and changed our plan to fit what was actually possible.
