Rowing

At the beginning of the 2022 school year, I made the decision to try out rowing at All Saints College. After trying it out, and thoroughly enjoying it, I made the effort to join the rowing team and represent the school at events such as regattas.

While the training at times is challenging and rather demanding, its rewards far outweigh the less comfortable aspect of the sport. I look forward to each session and get to socialise with other All Saints rowers, and am able to improve upon my mental and physical endurance and fitness in general.

While I have only competed in 2 regattas, the competitive factor of rowing is one that I’ve never experienced before. Being out on the water in a 1km race with 7 or so other crews is invigorating and arduous at the same time. Regardless of what place I may come in the race, I still find the sport enjoyable, and find that personally it gives to me far more than it takes from me.

Myself and Fraser Kearney competing in one of the regattas. My first race, with a gratifying 2nd place.
