English Reflections

Confidence: When you do your English assignment, always ask yourself; Am I doing this with confidence and pride? Or am I doing it just because I have to? If you feel like you’re doing it just because you were told to by your teacher, stop writing and try to think the other way. This change in mindset will always change your output of work. It may seem like a waste of time, but it pays off.

Marks: Expect to get high marks for everything you do.

Involvement: During a group project, try your best to contribute fully and put your best effort into the final goal; improve your chances of getting a high mark on the assessment. Group projects are hard, as many people have different levels of involvement than others. The best way to go about it is to put your best involvement level in.

Collaboration: To do even better in a group project, try to improve the involvement levels of others in a group. This will improve the general workload altogether and will mean that the group project will be finished faster.

Learner Agency: Using learner agency in the classroom makes the cooperation between teachers and students more of a partnership, rather than the teacher being the superior one. This way of learning will mean that the student may learn more off of the teacher, and the teacher even learning some things off of the student.

Organization: Keeping everything organized means it takes less time to find what you need, which you can then use that time for other things.

Skills: Focus on your skills. Understand what you can and can’t do.

Goals: Understand the goal. Most people think the goal is to simply “Do well on the assessment, which it isn’t. The goal is “To do everything you can to improve your chances of getting a high mark on the assessment.” While they may seem like the same thing, working based on that goal makes a huge difference to your study and work.
