About me 2020
Hi I am Clara Elezovich I attend All Saints College, I am fourteen years old and I am in year 8.
My main interest is dance. I go to The Dance Collective and this is my fifth year at TDC. I first started Musical theatre, jazz, and tap when I was four years old at MSJ Productions. Dance is the time that I can connect with my friends and it provides a sense of community. Right now I do Hip hop and Jazz as they are my favorite styles of dance. For a successful group dance, there is a lot of teamwork needed. If one person stuffs up it can have an impact on the dance if there is acrobatics included.
My family is Croatian and it is a big part of me. We eat traditional foods and have family dinners and spend a lot of time together especially during holidays. I have only been to Croatia twice; once when I was four years old and in 2019 when I was 13. We went to a few different places such as Split, Solta, Makarska, Bol, Tucepi, and Promajna. This brings me to another part of me is that I love to travel. I love to go to Singapore, Maldives and Croatia as they are my three favourite places other than Australia. I love going to visit these countries as the lifestyle is extremely different to Australia.
$20 Boss
SUMMARY/OVERVIEW
This term we started a new project called $20 boss. You may be wondering why this project is called the $20 boss project. It is named this because you must begin with $20 to build a business and to make a profit. The $20 boss project was quite challenging for my group and me as we had a copyright issue which caused us to have problems with creating our business. It was quite difficult to find a unique and different business and do not have the same ideas as other groups and already existing businesses.
FIRST IDEAS-
At first, I thought this project would be easy and easy to think of a unique idea. Then my group and I did not get the go-ahead with our business, so we were stuck and had to brainstorm ideas and pretty much restart. I began in a group with Luke and Ayden. We struggled to think of an idea that was different from others and that could be useful and not go to waste. We came together with an idea to create brochures, pins, and magnets and the teachers did approve this. This was our last resort, but we were not passionate about our idea. I decided to change groups to Jas, Pearl, and Annas group where they were creating Album covers for room décor. I really loved this idea and we began to start prototyping and thinking of designs. Then we came to an issue and we could not be able to go ahead with our main idea due to copyright. We had the choice to use other photos, but we realized it would not be very well time consumed as we would have to get people to send through the photos for us to work with.
CAPABILITIES-
As we were in a group, we had to be collaborative. The main part of being in a group is to work together and to all-out effort and input in our work and businesses. Secondly, we also had to be creative. Creativity is the way to think of designs and ideas. Collaboration and creativity work very well together if we all put the effort in and work together to put something great together. Our group/s could have worked better in collaboration as not everybody put a large amount of effort into it. Next time I will work harder on my communication as I was absent for one week which caused me to feel like I was not apart of the group. I came back the next week and I was a bit lost so this is why I had moved groups. When I moved groups I was not passionate about their idea so I decided not to continue with the $20 Boss project.
YEAR 7 CHRISTMAS MARKET 2019
This year the year’s sevens commenced with their Christmas market. I was in a successful group with Sienna Gorman and Kaiya Mcphee. Our business name was SeaShelf. We created products that were photo frames with handpicked seashells decorated around the edges of the frames. We had a small size which was $4.00 nd then sold out of them. We had a $5.00 size …
Health Reflection-
This unit of Health in Connected Learning has taught me a lot about social media, critical thinking, responsibility, empathy, integrity, courage and how to be an upstander. With critical thinking, I have learned a lot about how to be firm but kind. For example, I have Instagram. On Instagram on people’s stories, there is this app called Tellonym. On Tellonym your followers anonymously post a comment and you repost them onto your story. This is meant to be something to make people feel good about themselves and to make their day amazing. Instead of that, people anonymously post disgusting, rude, inappropriate and immature comments. This makes people feel bad about themselves and they don’t know who this is so it could potentially be a friend who actually just wants to cause drama and then other people could pretend to be someone else and can cause arguments and fights. This is where critical thinking comes in. There is a small amount of kind, loving and beautiful people and comments who say- “whoever is saying this trash about her stop she is beautiful and never does anything to you” and other things to make people feel better. People need to think carefully, could I be hurting someone inside? Can I make someone hurt themself? One comment can cost a life. Responsibility and respect are two very important units for me to learn about, here is why. Manners. As Mr. J says “Manners cost you nothing but get you everywhere” It very true. Manners are one simple way to be respectful. Respect is something that means a lot to me because without respect we go nowhere. In class, I learned how important it is to be responsible. Being responsible or unresponsible shows your personality, and everyone wants to be known for being a good person not for being bad or “unresponsible”. I try to be as responsible as I can every day because I try to be the best I can be. I have learned how one comment can take a life. After watching the short film about Dolly and her suicidal story. It made me think, why do people say these nasty things? How does it make them feel good as a person? Do they understand what this makes people do to themselves? In our future, I want the suicidal span to come down a whole lot more. Our world is losing kids, teenagers and adults every single day to drug use, social media and bullying. From learning about comments online and online bullying, it has changed the way I act when I’m reading comments on Instagram and socials. I used to ignore the nasty comments on others’ posts but now I want to have a say and tell the people to think before they do harm. When I’m older I understand that as adult comments are still said on posts and pages and i want to be the person who stands up for others and help them ignore the selfish rude people who say things that hurt people inside and out.

InnovatED 2019
Innovated this year has been quite enjoyable.
We did a large variety of different activates including technology, crafts, and research tasks.
My favorite part of this year innovated was cleaning up rubbish in the lake and bushlands. We got to develop many new skills such as communication, teamwork, creativity, and more skills to help us complete our singular and group tasks. The main skill I have developed is creativity because I had to think really hard for the activities and to problem-solve to complete our duties.
Dance :)
Dancing is my passion and I have been dancing since I was 4 years old. When I was four years old I started off with the styles Ballet and musical theatre. Then I added on with jazz and tap for a few years. Now I continue with acrobatics, Jazz and Hip-hop and lyrical. I love dance because no matter how I feel I can always enjoy it with any emotion. When I was little I went o MSJ Productions but now I go the Dance Collective and it is my second home. TDC has a concert every year. This year I am participating in the Teens concert in three dances. At the ending of all concerts at TDC, all the dances and choreographers make their way to the stage and perform a group finale dance. There were challenges on the way of learning our dances and if we had to change something in our performance and it was not our choice we still have to cooperate with everyone to make changes.
