This year we have completed challenges and tasks that needed the skill of collaboration. I mainly used collaboration in the current affairs project. First I independently created the a script for a news segment. Caitlyn and I then used this to film and edit a funny current affairs segment. We collaborated by helping each other film and come up with the characters. It was challenging as their were many characters to play and only two of us in our group. So we had to alternate playing characters and filming. This also took more time management skills then other groups as it was harder to change outfits, switch characters and learn more lines.
Learner agency is used in our classroom to help the students. Examples of learner agency are communicating understandings, asking questions, expressing wonderings and participating and contributing to the discussions being made. These techniques help the students in our class have a better understanding of a topic we may be learning. Benefits of learner agency include growing a better relationship with the teacher and peers, developing more knowledge about a topic and helping other students learn by sharing your thoughts and opinions. In every topic we are taught about, learner agency always helps students.
