My house is Durack and we are not to best at sport but we have a good attitude and we always win the spirit award and the inter-house choir. This year Durack came first in the inter-house choir. And there is inter-house after school and I really love to do it. I have done it from term 1 in year 7. In the first term, we did soccer and the second term we did netball but in the third term, we don’t do inter-house sport because there are exams on and the years 11 and 12 are the ones that coach us. In the last term we are doing touch rugby. At the athletics carnival and swimming carnival, you have to volunteer for the events and most of the girls in my house do not like doing sport and I do, so I always encourage the others on in my house to compete in at least one thing. This year at the swimming carnival our house came first and this has not happened for a very, very long time so when we found out, our whole house was very excited. But sadly for the athletics carnival, we came last, by a lot. I think being in a team like Durack gives me the skills of being great with a team and being a leader that includes everybody’s abilities and using them to help us have a great outcome.
